Nakasongola District falls under the cattle corridor where agriculture is intensively practiced due to the prolonged droughts which makes most of what is grown getting consumed within the families. Therefore there is high rate of domestic violence due to poverty at household, children getting involved in child labour and young girls getting forced into child marriage and dropping out of schools due to parents failing to provide them with basic needs that can retain them in schools.
